This year I'm trying to cut out more added sugars while increasing fiber & protein. I don't go for a zero sugar diet but reducing added sugars helps to reduce belly fat, lowers inflammation, & contributes to heart health. My goal is less than 25g of added sugars per day.
Increasing fiber helps lower cholesterol & blood sugar while keeping me feeling fuller longer & helps maintain a healthy weight.
Our bodies process proteins less efficiently as we get older so increasing protein is important for maintaining muscle mass & boosting metabolism! Try to get 1-1.2 g per Kg of body weight.
I used to do high impact workouts but now I do low-impact bike bootcamps that combine cardio with weight lifting. The cardio helps keep my heart healthy and lifting weights keeps my bones & muscles strong.
